Let’s tackle one of the biggest lies your hairstylist has been telling you for YEARS! I’m not sure who started this rumor but whoever did I will be sure to send all my dirty haired clients their way… About 90% of my clients have said “isn’t dirty hair better for undo’s & curls?”  This could not be more UNTRUE & here’s why: I can make your hair dirtier but I can’t make it cleaner. It is much easier to use specific products to add texture, volume & shine to clean hair than to drench your hair in dry shampoo trying fight against oily hair & look clean.

When your hair is dirty oils build up on the hair shaft & scalp causing the hair to become flat, greasy, & unmanageable. For some reason a myth was created way back in the 80’s that dirty hair makes for more voluminous & bouncy hair. I’m not sure about you, but I know when my hair is dirty it’s definitely anything but bouncy, it lays flat on my face & the only thing I wanna do is throw it up in a bun! Your bang separation is NOT cute girlfriend! Curls are most bouncy when they are on fresh clean hair, set with products. They are heavier when your hair has oil built up causing them to lay flat against your scalp & drop faster throughout the day.

TIPS: Wash your hair the night before your trial or the day of to get the most out of your hair! Fresh wash hair is beautiful hair J!

EXCEPTION TO THE RULE: In this case if you have naturally straight hair that also has a very fine texture, 2 days dirty hair is okay.
